I've been talking about it a lot * the week when we roll our jeans as we please
A string of opinionated random thoughts.
Let me start by saying: first time I was mortified and ashamed of being American.
You know what I am talking about.
On how I got the American citizenship, for context. I moved herelate ‘90s, worked my ass and savings off to obtain and pay for each visa I have ever held for which I had to be sponsored for. I got to the green card NOT by lottery, but through the legal process which means we paid a lot of fucking lawyers for years. At the right time (they require five consecutive years on US land), I was legally allowed to apply for the citizenship that President Obama granted me on his first term. Do you know the main difference between being a green card holder and citizen?
The right to vote. The fucking irony.
And I studied the constitution, read whatever whitewashed American history they ask you to read, I held the flag at the ceremony and all that jazz. There are some sacred and revered institutions, such as our European allies and yes the Oval fucking Office and THAT showdown?
If any Ukrainian citizen is here, please know we are with you and accept at least our apologies.

Erdem x Barbour did it again. This time it’s a tulle pairing so perfect it reminds me of caviar and champagne.
This Monchhichi strawberry baby and a pacifier mascot. I don’t usually hang charms on bags, but I would proudly hang them on my key chains.
Prendila Così with Luca Barbarossa and Mario Biondi
The IG Boyfriend of the Month is Michael Imperioli.
The anti-stealth luxury (as defined by no less than Rachel Seville Tashjian) Prada latest collection, always ahead of everybody’s body and mind. Let’s not forget the genius of Raf Simons, OK? They asked themselves: What’s femininity today? They went for freedom from the societal constrictions of how a woman is expected to behave, speak, and move. Girl, fuck the patriarchy. Does anyone have the show notes?
I don’t care
How YOU roll your jeans it’s your problem girl, we don’t need micromanagement. Style is the first unspoken language we speak, and if I want to roll up the jeans uneven and imperfect, YOU chill and get on with your perfectly cuffed life.
If you only knew that my Miami experience at TRR has unfortunately evolved in an episode 2: my 4-piece consignment is … missing. Oh girl. Will keep you updated.
The sustainability debrief
Today I brag while I introduce you the Council on Sustainable Fashion and Design of Grenada, CSFDG and its latest program, the Kaylia Couturier Program, an initiative tailored to promote and incentivize fashion production throughout the Caribbean. None of this would exist without the vision and relentless sustainable fashion advocacy pursuit of Shannen Kaylia, its founder. The Kaylia Program is the latest recipient of a grant from Fashion Impact Fund, and notably the first Caribbean-based initiative. I am proud to have been selected as one of the instructors of the first cohort. We’ll learn about timeless craftsmanship, social and environmental capital, we’ll go from Veblen to Legendary Glamma and can’t wait.
How do you say it in Italian?
Te non capisci una sega nemmeno se rinasci said in haste when you listen to someone berating you with a level of BS that insults your intelligence and doesn’t deserve an answer. Oh, and it means “you will not understand shit even if you are reborn.”
For all my new followers and anyone who wants to chat, feel free to check out my style diary, the book I wrote and published, and my posts on Instagram.
I wait for these posts with bated breath! xx
Francesca, I am so happy for you and for everyone who will take part in this program! You truly deserve this, and those who will learn from you are really lucky. Congratulations!
