The irrefragable importance of

• ice cream (always there when you need it)

• blue in your life (the perfect color)

• the summer reading list (includes Real Housewives gossip)

• following your mind when it fixates on an idea (like the airy white full skirt)

• not owning prettiness to anyone

• rewatch American Gigolo and Working Girl, Downton Abbey and Mad Men

• puffy sleeves

• this playlist

Love

• The surprises you find in used books

• Bread, butter and anchovy paste

• Indigo blue and tabac

• Air conditioning, especially when it breaks

• Focaccia e Mare

Hate

• Willful ignorance

• Guessing the word at the last Wordle attempt

• When I burn the meat for the ragu

• Dog-eared book pages

• People posing with an Aperol Spritz, because if you pose usually it’s fake (FYI, the color gives it away). I can spot a fake like that Baguette Samantha bought from a back alley in LA.

• People who eat and chew in their IG stories (It eludes me why they couldn’t wait those 20 seconds)
