Ok, so take a deep breath:
Stefano Pilati x Zara
Claire Waight Keller at UNIQLO
Zac Posen at GAP
Alexa Chung x Madewell
Pharrell at LV
Haider Ackerman at Tom Ford
Dior poaching Italian executives
It’s just a clusterfuck of musical chairs, unqualified celebrities and IT girls taking over positions that should be occupied by trained fashion designers, Chanel and Givenchy still headless, Anna feuding with Naomi, and another so far insipid NYFW where you see a soup of what’s already in the stores.
I told you to take a breath.
Let’s praise Cate Blanchett's existence and the cannot do withouts
Love
Venice Film Festival and Jude Law. Also, I am here to witness the karmic revenge of the ex-wives, aka Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman, vs the pathetic circus-like interlude of the ex-husbands. Noted!
When people vote (make sure you are registered, the govt in Florida doesn’t want people to vote from home, so check, request your ballot, and exercise your right to vote because they are psycho, weird, and terrifying and we cannot afford to let them win.)
The Fran Lebowitz Reader last week I told you I was waiting for it and I can’t leave it down and laugh loud alone.
The resurgence of J.Crew and its catalog, simple clothing, dreaming of happier times yet not melancholic.
Surprising myself with a revelation from my year of #theRuleofFive: I didn’t buy anything in the past three months. It is a surprise because looking back at the last 3 months, it happened without premeditation, without imposing restrictions, and I think it’s associated with the season, the weather, and work with its varied daily activities. It goes to show how intimate, personal and the by-product of a specific phase of life is the process of harmonizing one’s wardrobe. It’s a win-win on so many levels: I got dressed every day, there’s still a good 30% of clothing to eliminate, and life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.
Hate
The ex-husbands
Whatever sport season is now: I am not interested.
That I want to wear barn jackets and boots and we still have three months of hurricane season.
Those who ferociously condemn fashion as an industry without respecting the art, creativity, talent, craftsmanship.
When, on a “school night”, I get dolled up with makeup and drive to the wrong event in the wrong place.
How do you say it in Italian?
Non fa una piega when we want to say that something is clear, perfect, straight forward. Literally, it doesn’t fold or crease.
Thank you! I needed a little friendly snark on substack. If you can’t wonder what the qualifications of Alexa Chung are do we even live in a free speech society?
Our Loves and Hates are practically the same. Except I’m not sure what a school night is…… 😅 Just bought The Fran Leibowitz Reader and I’m off to sign up for a paid subscription…Think I’ll love this Substack!
