I dig the photo but that lady can't move her arms?
If you liked Metropolitan, you might like Nicole Holofcener movies. (I do.) Unless they are a West Coast thing - but I don't think so. (I like movies where nobody gets shot.)
Word of the year. Hmm. I wish there were a word for when you have good friends but they live so far away you never see them anymore. A sort of fish out of water. That's me, basically. Though, I admit, I could put in more effort.
As for clothes, I am procedurally where you might have been several years ago. Buried in too much that I don't like, or can't wear, and looking for the energy to deal with it all.
I watched Concave (at home!) last night and the ending just slayed me. Maria will be tonight now.
Yes to The Row shoes. I copy most Row looks with Cos or Massimo mostly - but the shoes are in another league. Someone on Substack said a while back that they design the shoes you never think you wanted or needed but must have once you know they exist. Yup..
Interesting POV about the TR shoes. I personally think they don't design them, as in invent them; they do research trips, find them in these traditional, classic, understated Italian made-to-measure brands and stores that have served the most elegant women for generations, they replicate them, put their label on them, and charge the surplus. It's all legit stuff, the same way that COS replicates their aesthetic.
Happy new year, dear Francesca. That image in lieu of a word is precious. Some feelings are untranslatable.
